An ongoing series of seminars
and debates on current issues in public and socially engaged art practice.
The seminars are for artists, arts development officers, arts educators,
funding bodies and anyone who interested in making art for public
spaces. All talks are free but booking is essential as places
are limited.

Leyh, Artist
Liz
Leyh has extensive experience of delivering participatory arts projects
both in the UK and internationally. In 1978 as artist in residence
for the Milton Keynes Development Corporation she created the now
legendary ‘Concrete Cows’. She is currently working
with people with mental health issues on an art project based in
West London. She will discuss this and other examples of her projects
based in America, Israel and the UK.

Corporate Spaces to Public Places' Curatorial Dilemmas.
A discussion of the issues that arise when curating for different
clients and audiences in very different physical locations, both
interior and exterior.
Rachel Dickson
and Emma Russell set up Dickson Russell Art Management in 1992 after
varied careers in the art worlds in London and New York. Drawing
on their combined curatorial expertise and management skills, they
have developed a successful working partnership to provide a full
range of art consultancy services to meet the needs of their clients
whether corporate, public or private.

Terra Neale, PhD, Art Historian & Independent Curator
Public and the
Private in the Arts, from the Modern Perspective into Contemporary
Practices with case studies involving Brazilian Projects.
Paula has worked
in many art sectors in Brazil, including Education, Galleries and
Museums, and for UK institutions such as The British Council. She
is a member of the international curatorial board of the University
of Essex Collection of Latin American Art.

Donlin, Architectural Glass Artist
Martin will
give an overview of his working process and discuss his most recent
art commissions.
Martin
is a leading designer and maker of architectural glass. He works
with the glass industry to produce site-specific contemporary art
works on both large and small scale. He uses abstract designs as
well as representational imagery, working with traditional materials
and using modern technology to create contemporary works, which
promote light and space. Past commissions include; New Street Station
Entrance - Bullring, Birmingham, The Oracle Shopping Centre, Reading
& Landmark Place, Slough.
